Who codes who?

In this installation made of a digital artwork, I have developed a digital representation of a custom AI coded software that observes and translates human movement into sequences of numbers and letters—codes that do more than describe; they replicate. The system acts as both mirror and creator, converting kinetic gestures into algorithmic language, which in turn reanimates those movements in digital form.

This process forms a continuous loop of perception, translation, and re-creation. The human body becomes data; the data becomes motion. Through this feedback cycle, the boundaries between observer and observed, creator and creation, begin to blur.

The core question driving this work is: Who is coding who? As artificial intelligence increasingly shapes the way we move, think, and interact, this piece challenges our assumptions about agency, authorship, and control. Is the algorithm merely capturing our essence, or are we already moving to its rhythm?

By transforming lived movement into programmable code, the work becomes a meditation on digital identity, surveillance, and the evolution of humanity in an age where lines between natural and artificial intelligence are rapidly dissolving. It invites viewers—curators, collectors, and audiences alike—to reflect on their role in this emergent choreography between flesh and machine.
